About the Opportunity
MH Talent Solutions is partnering with a growing, forward-thinking CPA firm in Westborough, Massachusetts to hire an experienced Tax Manager. Our client provides tax, accounting, and advisory services to closely held businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individual clients. The firm combines strong technical expertise with a relationship-driven approach and is looking for a Tax Manager who brings both deep tax knowledge and a genuine interest in developing people and improving how work gets done.
This is more than a traditional tax review position. As Tax Manager, you’ll serve as a technical resource and leader within the firm while helping strengthen tax operations, improve processes, mentor developing professionals, and deliver exceptional service to clients.
You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to tax strategy and complex problem-solving while also playing an important role in the continued development of the firm and its team.
What You’ll Do
Review corporate, partnership, individual, and nonprofit income tax returns.
Identify tax planning opportunities and provide technical guidance to both clients and staff.
Research and resolve complex tax matters, including multi-state taxation, basis calculations, entity structuring, and other advanced tax issues.
Serve as a quality-control resource to support accurate, timely filings.
Partner with the team to improve tax review processes, workflows, and overall efficiency.
Mentor, coach, and develop staff accountants and interns.
Provide constructive feedback and technical training to support professional growth.
Participate in client tax strategy discussions and complex problem-solving.
Stay current on federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Help foster a collaborative, accountable, and team-oriented culture.
What We’re Looking For
Active Massachusetts CPA license.
5+ years of tax experience in public accounting.
Experience reviewing Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065, 1040, and 990.
Strong knowledge of complex tax matters, including multi-state taxation, basis tracking, and entity selection.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Demonstrated commitment to exceptional client service.
Leadership ability and a genuine interest in mentoring and developing others.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
A collaborative, team-first approach.
Experience with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office, and Intuit ProSeries is preferred.
